Workshop on e-Business (WEB) 2014

The Workshop on e-Business (WeB) is a premier annual conference on e-Business and e-Commerce. The purpose of WeB is to provide an open forum for e-Business researchers and practitioners world-wide to share research findings, explore novel ideas, discuss success stories and lessons learned, map out major challenges, and collectively chart future directions for e-Business.

The theme of WeB 2014 is “Big Data: Implications on Business”. Big Data has generated a lot of interests in the industry in recent years. No longer Big Data just an innovative idea, it is starting to impact on strategic thinking among senior management in many organizations. Through an increasing number of touch points to engage customers, firms are now able to collect and analyze a gigantic volume of data which was prohibitive in the past. In what ways Big Data exert its impacts on business models and what are the enabling technologies to realize these impacts are important research questions to be addressed. WeB 2014 provides a forum for scholars to exchange ideas and share findings on Big Data research. Original research articles with a broad coverage of technical, managerial, economic, and strategic issues relating to e-business systems in general and Big Data in specific will be presented at the workshop.
